Bristol’s Get Growing Trail returns 20-21 September, opening up dozens of community gardens, orchards, allotments and urban farms for free public visits. It’s a chance to explore hidden green spaces across the city — from working care farms to dementia-friendly allotments, wildlife-rich nurseries, and orchards heavy with fruit.

The trail encourages everyone, whether you’ve never planted a seed or you already know your compost from your coop, to enter Bristol’s world of community growing: see how it’s done, lean on expert advice, and enjoy workshops, social gardening, wildlife encounters, and farm tours.

Several sites will be fully accessible; others a little more rustic, so sturdy footwear is advised. Free bus tickets are available for those who need supporting transport.   After your visit you’ll be invited to complete a quick survey — among other bonuses you could win a fresh veg box delivered to your door.

It’s more than gardens. It’s a festival of soil, bees, community, flavour, and hope — a living reminder of what can grow when people come together.
