Dragonfly Festival Emperor dragonfly in flight Sam Walker WWT

Explore the magical world of dragonflies and dive into a summer full of wondrous new wetland experiences. The Dragonfly Festival brings stilt walkers, pond dipping, science shows, arts and crafts, silent discos, dragonfly safaris and other outdoor activities to WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre this summer. Running from 18 July - 3 September you can enjoy a silent disco by the water’s edge, marvel at stilt walkers, learn circus skills, pilot a dragonfly drone or take a canoe safari to watch darting dragonflies. Be amazed by exciting science experiments at our Dragonfly Science Show, fly like a dragonfly on the new zipline in Riverlife play area, explore the hidden world beneath the water’s surface at our Pond dipping sessions or get creative and take part in colourful Creative Craft workshops. Start your adventure at the vibrant festival hub in the Visitor Centre to find out what's on during your visit where colourful flags signal a day of discovery and the chance for imaginations to take flight.

Participation in the WWT Dragonfly Festival at WWT Slimbridge is included with the price of admission and is free to WWT members. An additional cost of £10 applies for Canoe Safari. Visitors who book online in advance can enjoy a 10% discount on ticket prices. Reduced price tickets (£5 per adult or £3 per child) are also available for those in receipt of Universal Credit and Pension Credit; these must be pre-booked up to one day before the visit date.
