Weston-super-Mare has become one of the southwest’s most exciting destinations for street art, and this summer Weston Wallz returns to transform the town into a giant open-air gallery. Now in its sixth year, the festival sees internationally renowned mural artists and emerging regional talent creating around 20 new large-scale artworks across familiar landmarks and unexpected corners of the town, adding to a growing collection that now makes Weston one of the UK’s biggest free street art trails.

Running from 17 to 26 July, the festival is much more than watching artists paint. Visitors can follow self-guided mural trails, join guided street art tours, take part in free workshops and catch live painting sessions throughout the week. The final weekend brings the popular Spray Jam to the Italian Gardens, where artists create large-scale works live in front of the public, alongside family-friendly creative activities.

Produced by the team behind Bristol’s Upfest, Weston Wallz has helped redefine the town’s cultural identity, turning blank walls into permanent public artworks while encouraging visitors to explore independent cafés, shops and the seafront along the way. Whether you’re into graffiti, illustration, mural art or simply fancy seeing a seaside town through a more colourful lens, it’s one of the region’s standout free summer events.
