The start of a series exploring new routes for classical composition sees Gimson’s minimalist, electronica-inspired sounds collide with projected visuals in an immersive premiere performance.
Drawing on influences from across Minimalism and Electronica (Steve Reich, Colin Stetson, Aphex Twin); his percussive cell-based music also draws on his work in film and multimedia. Projected visuals, created by Tom for each piece, give a captivating sense of immersion in this Bristol premiere performance.

Presented by Postclassical Assembly: a new concert series showcasing composer-performers working a classically-influenced format, each with their own modern, unique, and deeply listenable approach. We showcase performers from a wide variety of backgrounds and influences, in informal and unconventional spaces, to bring postclassical music to new audiences, intentionally making the experience more accessible and lowering the barrier to entry.
