Sanctum returns with another night for curious ears, bringing together two brilliantly adventurous approaches to sound.

Unicorn Ship Explosion are Roberto Pennypincher and Sash! Oblong, a duo embracing improvisation, unpredictability and what they cheerfully call “rhythmical nonsense”. Their debut album There’s A Rhinoceros In The Mega Church, released by Stroud’s Sound Records, pulls post-rock apart and rebuilds it through strange structures, sudden turns and kaleidoscopic experimentation.

Joining them is Elliot Galvin, one of the UK’s most distinctive jazz musicians. A member of Mercury Prize-nominated Dinosaur, Galvin has released five acclaimed solo albums and collaborated with Shabaka Hutchings, Emma-Jean Thackray, Norma Winstone and more.

Expect risk-taking, improvisation and music happily wandering off the map.
