The Long Table Stroud
The Long Table is one of Stroud’s most inspiring community food projects, built on a simple belief that everyone deserves good food and a place at the table. Part café, part community kitchen, part social movement, it brings people together to eat, connect and support one another without barriers. There are no fixed prices — instead, food is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis, so anyone can enjoy a nourishing meal, whether they’re thriving or finding things tough. The ingredients are locally sourced, the cooking heartfelt, and the atmosphere welcoming in that very Stroud way.
But The Long Table is more than a place to eat. It’s a model for a fairer food system, working with farmers, growers and volunteers to tackle food insecurity, loneliness and disconnection. They host workshops, events, community fridges, and shared meals designed to bring people together across backgrounds. Think long tables, big flavours, good conversations, and the sense that you’re part of something hopeful.
