After two hugely successful nights at Rough Trade Bristol, Bristol Song Circle returns on Wednesday 11 November.
The Song Circle is all about hearing songs in their most stripped-back form, with the stories, ideas and inspiration behind them woven into the performance. Artists take turns to play their songs, talk about how they came to be, and share stories, with host Blair Dunlop guiding the conversation. Up this time:
🎤 SUNTOU SUSSO: Gambian-born kora player, singer, and songwriter whose music draws on West African traditions, contemporary soul, and his life between cultures.
🎤 NATALIE HOLMES: whose distinctive, intimate songs have earned her a growing reputation for thoughtful writing and a powerful live presence.
🎤 SAM BROOKES: a singer-songwriter whose rich, soulful voice and beautifully crafted songs have made him a familiar and much-loved presence on the city's music scene.
🎤 BLAIR DUNLOP: Award-winning singer-songwriter, guitarist and host of the Bristol Song Circle, bringing the artists together for an evening of conversation as well as music.
