Rich’s annual Charity Wassail returns, bringing a roaring midwinter celebration to the farm with song, cider and a hearty dose of Somerset tradition. This age-old ritual is all about blessing the orchard for the year ahead, driving away bad spirits and waking the apple trees from their winter rest. Expect flaming torches, clattering pots and pans, offerings to the roots and the unmistakable crack of the shotgun as the ceremony reaches its peak.
Fuel up on hot food from The Cider Press Restaurant and sink a pint (or two) of their award-winning cider, while The Skimmity Hitchers keep spirits high with their rowdy Scrumpy and Western soundtrack. It’s a magical, muddy, joyously noisy night that mixes folklore, community and proper cider culture, all in support of Love Musgrove.
Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance. Last year saw fake resales floating around, so stick to official links and grab yours early.
