Share
The Market Place in Shepton Mallet is a historic town center, dominated by a 50-foot Market Cross erected around 1500 by Walter Buckland. Historically a hub for the medieval wool trade and “shambles” (butchers' stalls), it served as a thriving commercial center with 16th-century buildings, including the Grade II* listed Market Cross, which was rebuilt in 1841.
