David Hockney On The Wall Free Listing Banner

Hidden Gallery is ushering in springtime with a new collection of joyful, original prints and exhibition posters created by the legendary David Hockney. His instantly iconic pools, landscapes and still lifes will fill the gallery for a limited time only. (Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday from 10am - 5pm; Sunday from 11am - 4pm)   Hockney’s innovative practice has helped to shape Modern and Contemporary art, from his early years as a Pop Art pioneer to his ongoing experimentation with new media and technologies. Now 88 years old, his status as one of Britain’s most essential artists is firmly cemented. Hidden’s collection of limited-edition prints and hand-signed posters - all available for purchase - offers a survey of Hockney’s extraordinary career so far. The exhibition allows visitors to intimately engage with one of the most important living artists, perhaps even taking one of his masterpieces home.   Highlights include a poster produced for an exhibition at Salts Mill, Yorkshire, which featured a number of Hockney's portraits of his beloved dachshunds, Stanley and Boodgie. This poster has been hand-signed by Hockney and dedicated to Linda Wilkinson, the former company secretary of Salts Mill until 2018, making it a scarce and highly collectible piece of history from this landmark show.   Also on display is 'Dancing Flowers, May 1986', a stunning artwork created as part of Hockney’s acclaimed series of ‘home-made’ prints. In February 1986, the artist began to experiment with a friend's photocopier machine and soon discovered its potential as an alternative printmaking tool. Hockney's love of subverting technology, as also demonstrated in his recent iPad drawings, is a driving force for some of his most celebrated artworks. His 'home-made' prints are amongst his most famous works on paper.

The artworks in this exhibition present collectors - seasoned or new - with the exciting opportunity to own art by David Hockney. Don’t miss out - visit the exhibition while the full collection is still available. Each artwork is for sale on a first come, first served basis.
