Two days of drawing, experimentation and creative exchange taking place across the buildings, gardens and surrounding landscape of Hauser & Wirth Somerset on 18 and 19 July 2026.
Drawing Weekender invites visitors of all ages and levels of experience to explore drawing through workshops, artist talks, collaborative activities and free drop-in sessions led by artists and tutors from the Royal Drawing School.
Across the weekend, participants can draw outdoors in Piet Oudolf’s celebrated gardens and the rolling Somerset landscape, join immersive life drawing workshops inside the historic Durslade Farmhouse, or gather in the Radić Pavilion for artist-led talks and participatory demonstrations. Alongside ticketed workshops, free activities and self-directed drawing prompts will take place across the site throughout the weekend, including specially designed drawing sessions for children aged 7+.
Designed as an open and exploratory experience, Drawing Weekender encourages visitors to move between structured sessions and spontaneous moments of creativity.
Featured artists and Royal Drawing School tutors include Royal Academician Ishbel Myerscough RA, Dilip Sur, Alexis Soul-Gray, George Rouy, Matthew Rice, Nell Brookfield, David Gardner, Max Naylor, Tessa Coleman, Sara Lee Roberts and Paul Fenner.
Programme highlights include:
• Dynamic Interiors: immersive life drawing workshops set within the richly layered interiors of Durslade Farmhouse
• Drawing in the Landscape: outdoor drawing sessions exploring observation, gesture and narrative within the Somerset landscape
• Artist Encounters: participatory talks and demonstrations offering insight into contemporary artistic practices
• Family Drawing Studio: free, hands-on sessions designed for children and families
