Bristol’s most rowdy, cider-soaked celebration returns as the Urban Wassail takes over Exchange with a night of music, mischief and gloriously DIY ritual. This brilliantly anarchic twist on a centuries-old orchard-blessing tradition swaps fields for Old Market, bringing together Bristol’s proud cider heritage with a heavy dose of tongue-in-cheek theatrical chaos.

Live sets come from Scrumpy & Western favourites Skimmity Hitchers, high-energy support from The Shinkickers and agricultural hip-hop troublemaker Corky. The heart of the night is the “almost traditional” Wassail play: audience-written, audience-performed and packed with homemade costumes, dubious accents and the ceremonial taping of toast to Apple Tree Man.

Real cider flows, the atmosphere is raucous, and everyone is welcome to join in. It’s a celebration of community, creativity and West Country spirit – loud, loose and very Bristol.
