30th January - Writing for Wellbeing
This 2-hour workshop is a gentle introduction to the practice of creative writing for wellbeing rather than publication. Led by Kate Mattacks, a qualified writing therapist, you will be guided through a series of practical writing activities designed to support and discover your voice through writing. All materials are provided within a safe, supportive space for reflection and practice. No writing experience needed.
6th February - Finding Your Flow: Creative Writing for Resilience
Drawing on Bath's rich historical connections with healing waters, this 2-hour workshop will support you to develop your wellbeing and resilience through creative writing. Using words and watercolour, you will be guided by qualified writing therapist Kate Mattacks to experience several activities that aim to build your resilience and creative flow. No experience is needed and all materials are provided within a safe, supportive space to reflect and build your thoughts.
13th February - The Write Balance: A Creative Writing Workshop
Set within the stunning architecture of the Gainsborough Hotel, this 2-hour creative writing workshop centres on supporting you to find a quiet reflective space to balance the demands of everyday life and your own wellbeing. No experience is needed as you are guided through a series of writing activities by qualified writing therapist Kate Mattacks. Together, we will create words that are heard and celebrated within a creative, supportive space.
The workshops are from 10am to noon, all materials will be provided. Tickets cost £30 per person plus Eventbrite fees.
About your teacher:
Dr Kate Mattacks is a qualified therapeutic writing practitioner, specialising in supporting groups to find their voice through creative wellbeing. With over 30 years teaching experience in universities and prisons, Kate welcomes diversity and curious minds. Inclusion is at the heart of her practice and Kate is particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent people to find their wellbeing through a full range of creative practices.
