Colombian trio La Perla finally arrive at The Jam Jar for what promises to be one of the most exhilarating live shows of the summer.
Formed in Bogotá in 2014, the group travelled across Colombia’s Caribbean coast, learning traditional musical forms including bullerengue, cumbia, merengue, gaita and champeta directly from the communities that created them. They fuse those deep-rooted rhythms with flashes of punk attitude, hip hop and beatbox, creating something that feels both ancient and urgent.
Their songs tackle corruption, inequality and gender justice without ever losing sight of celebration. It’s music built for dancing, connecting and paying attention all at once. If you’ve never experienced La Perla live, expect thunderous percussion, soaring harmonies and enough energy to shake the walls. Bristol, you’ve waited long enough.
