A ONE DAY CELEBRATION OF LGBTQ+ CINEMA
Presented by The Holburne Future Collective in partnership with Film Bath and Queer Bath
Get ready for a full day of queer cinema, creativity, and community as we launch the very first Queer Bath Film Festival — a brand‑new platform championing emerging LGBTQ+ filmmakers and celebrating the richness of queer storytelling.
Hosted at the Holburne Museum, this one‑day festival brings together bold new voices, filmmakers, and iconic queer cinema in one unforgettable programme.
Short Film Showcase — 3pm
Tickets £6 / £4 open concession – book here
We open the festival with a vibrant selection of shortlisted short films created by talented young and emerging queer filmmakers. Curated by an expert panel — including BAFTA members, the Director of Film Bath, the Director of Reel Life Monsters, and members of the producing team — these films spotlight the breadth of contemporary queer storytelling.
Winners of the showcase will be announced during an exclusive reception, where several prizes will be given, including the Audience Choice Award, voted for by you.
In the Frame: Queer Stories on Screen — 5.30pm
Tickets £8 / £6 open concession – book here
What role does cinema play in telling queer stories? As queer narratives gain greater visibility on screen, questions remain about who gets to tell these stories, how cinema shapes their expression, and which voices are still underrepresented. In the Frame brings together established queer filmmakers and industry experts in conversation to reflect on the history and evolution of queer cinema, the craft of filmmaking, and the power of film as a medium for queer narratives.
