TOGETHER - Solo Exhibition by local artist, Tristan Manco

Tristan Manco is a Portuguese/English artist and designer based in Bath, UK.

Manco’s work employs traditional mediums such as drawing, painting and linocuts to explore personal obsessions and wider themes such as the relationship between humans and nature, connections between people, organic architecture, music & dance, folkloric and tribal imagery.

Since graduating with a BA Hons in Visual Communication Manco’s creative career has spanned a variety of simultaneous practices. He initially became known as a graphic designer working with musicians and artists such as Peter Gabriel and Banksy.

In 2002 he wrote his first book Stencil Graffiti published by Thames and Hudson, which was followed by a further nine books on street art & contemporary art with the same publisher. Since 2013 he has worked as a visiting lecturer teaching illustration at degree level at numerous institutions including Portsmouth University, and invited to lecture at many prestigious international institutions, including Tate Modern, ICA and The Royal College of Art.

Throughout his professional life he has also maintained a personal practice as an artist. This has included sticker designs, zines, T-shirts, street art and contributing paintings to group exhibitions, fairs such as The Affordable Art Fair, London and a successful solo exhibition Come Together, at That Art Gallery, Bristol in June 2023.

His solo show at Rosebery Road Studios this October, TOGETHER, features a mix of paintings, prints, drawings and animations, all created since 2023. As the title suggests, the show gives an opportunity to see his work all under one roof.

‘I’ve developed my own visual language over the years and my vibe for the show at RRS is analogue, fun and funky, bringing the work as well as people together’.
