The IMDb Awards return for 2025 with a refreshed format, uniting the Script to Screen and New Filmmaker Awards into one compelling evening that champions bold new talent in film and screenwriting.

What to expect:

Live readings of five shortlisted scripts performed by actors Screenings of five shortlisted short films from exciting emerging voices Industry panel deliberations and live announcements of both award winners Opportunities to connect with fellow filmmakers, programmers, and creatives during scheduled breaks The event will be live-streamed by Bath Spa University, giving a wider platform to finalists and offering national and international visibility.

Script to Screen: £7,000 production grant and £1,000 in-kind equipment hire New Filmmaker: £2,000 development award and £1,000 in-kind equipment hire Whether you’re a filmmaker, a student, or a film enthusiast, this is a chance to experience new talent breaking through, all in one evening.
