Adrian Utley is behind the famous, distinctive Bristol psychedelic guitar sound on iconic tracks by Portishead, Goldfrapp and others.
Tonight in a historic one-off Adrian invites Bristol-born legend Evan Parker for an evening of free jazz improvisation.
Evan Parker was pivotal in European free jazz improvisation in the 1960s. Critic Ron Wynn described Parker, now 82, as "among Europe's most innovative and intriguing saxophonists...his solo sax work isn't for the squeamish." This will be the first time they have played together. Joining Adrian and Evan on percussion is Mark Sanders. The gig will be live recorded for Kelston Records.
