Picasso, Miró & Dalí Drawings for Press Release

For one month only, Hidden Gallery will be hosting an exhibition of original artworks by the three titans of 20th century art: Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí. The trailblazing work of these artists, who spearheaded movements such as Cubism and Surrealism, resulted in some of the most canonical artworks of the last century. Hidden is proud to bring such important artworks to Bristol, exhibiting rare works on paper that have never before been displayed side by side.

The artworks in the collection - all of which are available for purchase - enable visitors to closely engage with Modern art’s top pioneers. Hand-signed, limited-edition lithographs and etchings from essential print suites will be on display, exploring each artist’s experimental printmaking practice. Highlights include a stunning lithograph from Miró’s 'Mannequin Parade’ portfolio,  a vibrant portrait from one of Picasso's final print suites and a selection of etchings from Dalí's ‘Paradise Lost’ suite.

Most excitingly, a historic, unique drawing by each artist will be at the heart of the exhibition. Picasso’s elegant ‘Tête d’homme couronné’, drawn using felt-tip in 1966, is a playful portrait dedicated to the sculptor (and Picasso’s close collaborator) Carl Nesjar. A classic abstract by Miró, ‘Untitled (Catálogo)’, will also be on display, drawn in 1968 directly onto a rare exhibition catalogue. The final crown jewel is ‘Spectre de Vermeer’, a drawing in ink created by Dalí in 1973 to celebrate his lifelong adoration of Vermeer.

All artworks offer an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy and even acquire a museum-quality work of art. Both collectors and enthusiasts are invited to the exhibition’s opening party on Saturday 18th April. Between 12pm - 4pm, complimentary prosecco will be served so that visitors may raise a toast to the collection.

Gallery Hours: Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm; Sunday 11am - 4pm
