Bath Tennis Club is delighted to invite members, their families and the local community to its WIMBLEDON WEEKEND Strawberries and Cream FESTIVAL on Sunday 6th July. The day offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the club’s warm welcome, enjoy a day of tennis, and soak up the Wimbledon atmosphere.
The FESTIVAL kicks off in the morning for members and their families. From noon, the event is open to all offering a chance for visitors to explore the club, meet members, and take part in fun tennis activities as well as watch Wimbledon live on TV from SW19.
The event is free with sign-up (subject to availability), and a rolling BBQ (£6 per person) starts at 2 pm. Visitors can expect freshly-made PIMMS, strawberries and Devon cream and home-made scones, jam and Cornish cream (jam first?). The bar will be open throughout the day, making it a perfect occasion for socialising with fellow tennis lovers.
Bath Tennis Club, a not-for-profit community amateur sports club, has been at the heart of Bath since 1880, offering opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy tennis. The club has recently invested £120,000 in upgrading its facilities, including four new hard courts, two Astro courts, and improved LED lighting. This open day is an opportunity to celebrate these improvements and encourage new members to join.
“Wimbledon is the UK’s iconic tennis tournament and Bath Tennis Club has served up previous champions since its inception in 1880. And many of us are secret Wimbledon Warriors. So we are proud to offer a vibrant, inclusive space where people can come together through tennis and social events,” said club manager Andrew Kettle. “This Festival is another fantastic way to showcase the club’s welcoming atmosphere, encourage new members, and celebrate the sport’s benefits for physical and mental well-being.”
