Bath - according to a national survey - is a news 'oasis' - meaning it technically has multiple sources of local journalism.

But in this age of pop-up ads, social media apps and algorithms, how well informed do you actually feel about your city? Yes, there are multiple sources of information, but do you feel consistently and meaningfully informed about the overall direction of life in our city? Do you feel empowered? Or powerless? Armed with insight... or overwhelmed with scattershot information?

Global journalist turned Bath resident and lecturer, Anu Anand, explores the evolution of local news with Dr Kevin Grieves, a historian who's written extensively about Bath's earliest newspapers; Lynne Fernquest, the first female editor of the Bath Chronicle, who oversaw the local newspaper's transition to digital; and Priyanka Raval, a journalist at the reader-owned Bristol Cable, which recently launched a new ethical social app to connect its readers
