On Sunday 13th October, The 7 Hills returns to Komedia with their strongest lineup to date at this year’s “Blues and Roots Festival.” Set across 3 stages, The Blues and Roots Festival is a further continuation of The 7 Hills mission statement: to showcase some of the finest musicians working today, paired alongside local legends and upcoming stars of the Somerset/ Wiltshire grassroots scene.
5 days prior to the release of their long-awaited new album “You Are Not A Stranger Here,” Godfathers of Americana, Danny and The Champions of the World, are the fitting headliners. “AMA UK Song of the Year” winner Lauren Housley and The Northern Cowboys & “2024 Blues Artist of The Year” (UK Blues Awards) Mississippi MacDonald, have both been duly hunted down and lured to Bath, joining the lineup for the first time. The most well-known name for many will be Reef’s Gary Stringer, whose eagerly-anticipated set follows what’s sure to be a knock-out performance from Supalung, the mesmeric Stroud-based supergroup.
Fresh from a slew of 5 star reviews, the majestic Robert Vincent returns for an extended full-band show on the Main Stage at 4pm. The quality continues with sets from critically-acclaimed national treasure Hannah White, Keiron Marshall’s Blues Band who are currently enjoying great press for tearing up the London-scene and hipster tone-merchants Sweet Giant, booked off the back of their electric Glastonbury performance. Bath Blues Legends Kevin Brown and Innes Sibun are set to cameo on numerous sets throughout the day, lending their gravitas and virtuosity.
The passion-project of Noah and the Whale’s Matt Owens and Music Industry Veteran Jack Horner, The 7 Hills ethos has always been to champion young musicians. This year they’re ecstatic to team up with Music Workshop to curate as exciting and inclusive a lineup of artists as possible, giving many their first opportunity to play a festival. Sets are to be hosted throughout the day in the Electric Bar.
